Effects of Child Centered Sensory Integration Motor Play Program on Emotional Behavior Problems of Preschool Aged Children with Spastic Cerebral Palsy

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop and apply a sensory integration motor play program based on the sensory integration therapy theory and to investigate the changes in emotional behavior problem behaviors. The subjects of this study were a total of 32 preschool-aged children with spastic cerebral palsy. The intervention program was carried out in the environmental context, as suggested by Ayres' sensory integration theory intervention principle, and it was used by the researchers through the validation of the content validity of the expert group and the review of preceding articles. The Intervention program was composed of steps 1-4: 1) the sensory input step, 2) the sensory discrimination step, 3) the sensory modulation step, 4) the sensory integration execution step. in addition, through the basic and advanced program, it was structured to promote the movement prediction mechanism and emotional levels of the preschool aged children with spastic cerebral palsy. This study was designed with the control group pre-posttest and the covariance analysis (ANCOVA) was processed by SPSS 20.0. The results were as follows. The sensory integration motor play program showed statistically significant difference in the emotional behaviors problems of preschool-aged children with spastic cerebral palsy.
